Chaplain Alice Anderman will discuss Andy Warhol’s “Jackie” as part of an ongoing program looking at spiritual and theological themes in artwork and the artist’s use of light as a way of communicating the movement of spirit and the presence of God.

Music legend Judy Collins will appear at the Center for the Performing Arts at Newton Hall on the Kents Hill School campus on May 13th at 8 p.m. for “An Evening with Judy Collins”. 

Judy Collins has thrilled audiences worldwide with her unique blend of interpretative folksongs and contemporary themes. Her impressive career has spanned more than 50 years.

Author and Journalist Ben Skinner to speak at Kents Hill School

The Kents Hill School welcomes noted journalist and author of “A Crime So Monstrous” Ben Skinner to campus today as part of the Human Rights Speaker program, started in 2009.  Mr. Skinner is an internationally known expert on human slavery.  He will speak to the Kents Hill School community on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Center for the Performing Arts at Newton Hall.  This event is open to the public, although seating may be limited.

Mr. Skinner authored the book A Crime So Monstrous about his work in reporting slavery in the modern world.  In its review, The Washington Post reviewer wrote, "Much like 19th-century abolitionist accounts of slavery in the United States, his book is meant both to inform and to enrage--and it succeeds on both counts.

"Meet Your Farmers and Fishermen" and get your share of the Maine harvest at a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and Fisheries (CSF) Fair in your community on Sunday, February 27th.

With CSA's and CSF's you commit to purchasing a share of the coming harvest before the season begins. The benefit? You get to support local farms and fishermen while getting your locally grown and harvested food direct from the producer at a fair price.

Come to one of the eleven fair locations statewide to: learn about buying a share; become acquainted with local seasonal foods; meet your local farmers and fishermen; and discover how you can grow a relationship with them. Community Supported Fisheries may not be represented in all locations.

"Meet Your Farmers and Fishermen: a celebration of Community Supported Agriculture and Fisheries" will take place on Sunday, February 27, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Maine’s 70th Annual Agricultural Trades Show

AUGUSTA, MAINE - The 70th Annual Maine Agricultural Trades Show will be held Tuesday, January 11, through Thursday, January 13, at the Augusta Civic Center. More than 5,000 people from around the state will attend the 2011 Trades Show, one of the state’s largest agricultural events.
The show, hosted by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources, will feature dozens of lectures, demonstrations, and meetings involving some 40 major agricultural organizations, committees, and agencies, as well as over 100 exhibits featuring the newest in agricultural products, equipment, and services.
This three-day event has something for everyone. It provides an atmosphere for everyone to walk through, observe, and educate themselves about the different areas of agriculture.
