Vandalism in Readfield
On 04/16/2012 at approximately 0705 hours, the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to buses belonging to the Kents Hill School located at 1614 Main Street, Rt. 17, in Readfield having been vandalized. The three vans were parked behind the Alfond Athletic Center and sustained approximately $7,000.00 in damage between them. In all, windows were smashed, tires slashed, head and tail lights were broken, and several mirrors destroyed.
Kennebec County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Cyrway, who also happens to be the agency’s DARE officer, responded and subsequently learned of two skateboarders who had been escorted from the property earlier in the week and they were disrespectful to the employees at the facility when asked to leave. Deputy Cyrway learned the duo did not attend Kents Hill but do visit the area regularly for skateboarding.
