Stay at Home Services Can Bring Peace of Mind

It is normal for people to want to stay in their home as long as possible.  Aging at home is a way to stay connected to what is familiar, safe, and comfortable.  Often this provides the best quality of life, and can be less expensive than supportive institutions.

Spectrum Generations and its Bridges Home Care division is committed to the idea that staying in one’s home is possible and can be the best solution while providing services that enhance the quality of life.

Home care agencies provide in-home services to help with activities of daily living that have become difficult.  These may include bathing, dressing, toileting, and moving around the home or can be household tasks such as laundry, shopping, cooking, light cleaning, reminders for medication, or even just sitting having a cup of tea and being social.

Adult day care is an affordable alternative to home care and assisted living and is a very special place for adults who need supportive daytime care and very necessary relief to caregivers.  Adult day programs specialize in providing a safe and stimulating day of activities, balanced and nutritious meals, and rest when desired.  Some programs also have specialized services for dementia or those with intellectual disabilities.

Often time’s families do not have all the information necessary to make decisions about a loved one’s care, or cannot come to agreement.  Professional Geriatric Care Management services provide assessments and expertise about aging resources and common concerns.  They will do in-depth research all of the aspects of care, listening to the people involved and create a plan of care.  Care Managers also coordinate care and assist with setting up services, connecting to resources, or choosing new living arrangements.

As part of Spectrum Generations, Bridges Home Care offers all of these services.  For more information on how to keep a loved one at home safely, contact Spectrum Generations Stay at Home Programs at 800-876-9212.  Or learn more about these programs at http://www.bridgeshomecare.org/
