Nancy Marshall Communications Set to Help Mid-Maine Chamber Members Prepare for Trade Shows

AUGUSTA, Maine - Trade shows are designed to generate business and educate target audiences about a company's product and service. On Wednesday, February 9, Nancy Marshall Communications (NMC), a PR marketing and Web development agency in Augusta will help Maine businesses learn about the keys to a successful trade show.

Greg Glynn, an account executive at NMC will share a fun and informative presentation about trade shows at the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast at Thomas College. The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Student Center Atrium at 180 West River Road in Waterville.

The hour-long presentation titled "Tricks of the Trade" will help businesses and non-profits plan and focus their energy on the most important elements of a trade show. Throughout the presentation, Glynn will showcase his expertise, knowledge and ideas for how to have a successful trade show.

Maine Restaurant Week kicks off with the 2011 Signature Event

PORTLAND, Maine – Expanding on last year’s legendary cocktail competition, the March 2011 Maine Restaurant Week kick-off Signature Event introduces a two-pronged dessert competition. Taking place on February 28 at the Masonic Temple in Portland from 5-8 pm, the Signature Event celebrates the priceless individuality behind Maine’s cocktail shakers and sugar shacks.

Cookies challenge cakes and cupcakes take on truffles in the “How Sweet It Is” portion of the competition, but only one can win. Guests at The Signature Event have the final say in this people’s choice face-off.

More Than Just Dinner’s on the Docket at Maine Restaurant Week 2011

PORTLAND, Maine — Restaurants across the state are gearing up for the third annual Maine Restaurant Week, taking place March 1-12. Restaurants around Maine will participate in the event by featuring special three-course dinners ranging in price from $20-$40. Some restaurants will also offer three-course prix-fixe lunches from $15.

Restaurant Week celebrates the vibrancy and richness of Maine’s culinary traditions while giving restaurants a much-needed boost during the slowest time of the year.

More than seventy restaurants are already registered for the March 2011 Maine Restaurant Week, from Eliot to Bangor to Rockland. A list of participating restaurants and featured menus is available on www.mainerestaurantweek.com.

Tricks of the Trade: How to Successfully Participate in a Trade Show is Topic of Next Business Break

WATERVILLE, February 9 — The next Business Breakfast, presented by Thomas College in partnership with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, will focus on “Tricks of the Trade: How to Successfully Participate in a Trade Show.” Greg Glynn, an account executive at Nancy Marshall Communications, will share his expertise, knowledge and ideas for making the most out of a trade show. He will talk about ideas and tips for making important contacts, share powerful marketing techniques and provide a checklist for your next trade show. The presentation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Student Center Atrium on Thomas College’s campus at 180 West River Road in Waterville.

13th Annual Gene & Lucille Letourneau Ice Fishing Derby

(Waterville – February 1, 2011) Spectrum Generations Muskie Community Center is holding their 13th Annual Gene & Lucille Letourneau Ice Fishing Derby Sunday, February 27, 2011.  Weigh-in is from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  Tickets for this event can be purchased for $5.00, or five for $20.00, at the Muskie Center or local bait shops before the event and at the Muskie Center the day of the event.  Each ticket purchased entitles you to enter one fish in the competition, plus enters you to win the Grand Prize of $500 cash!  “Participants can fish any Maine lake and bring their prize winning fish to the Muskie Center before 5:00 pm to be weighed-in” says organizer Ryan Poirier.  “We’ll have refreshments and hot drinks waiting for you.”  There will be 1stst, 2ndnd, and 3rdrd place prizes for children (15 and under) and 1st and 2nd place prizes for adults for the biggest fish in each category.  Adult and children categories include Salmon, Brook Trout, Brow
