Hat & Beard Day (Part Deux) at Fairview!!
Here we go again! You’ve probably heard that Mr. G is looking a little uglier these days? Well, he is! But it’s because he’s participating in a yearly ritual for the NHL playoffs—he’s growing a playoff beard. And once again, it’s working—the Boston Bruins are one game away from going to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second tme in three years! Remember what happened last time he did this? Here’s a hint: it was in 2011.
Of course, he’s not only using his beard-growing skills to help the Bruins’ quest for the cup. The other reason is to raise money for a worthy cause: Not only is he taking part in the NHL’s Beard-a-thon through the Boston Bruins Foundation, but he also has a Positive Tracks Team registered for the Dempsey Challenge, Team PT Down with Disease. In order to try and help (& of course, for fun as we wind down the school year!), Fairview is holding a hat/beard day on Wednesday, June 12 . For $1, kids can wear their hats to school for the day. Proceeds will benefit the Dempsey Center for Courage, Hope and Healing. If they really want to show their spirit, they can wear a beard to school to show support for the Bruins as they continue their quest for the Stanley Cup!
